Still

Shepherd, hold this lamb’s heart

Like You faithfully hold all

I am prone to wander,

And my faith is small.

In the Valley of Questions

You’re still by my side

Your rod and staff—

My comfort and guide

So I will make my soul be still

And in my Father trust

Though His ways differ from mine

His ways are always best

Lord With You, may I wrestle,

But in You may I rest.

Lord, You are silent,

But in tenderness.

Lord I still have my questions

But I see more of You

In all of my wrestling,

You’ve proven Yourself true.

Everywhere darkness rages

Ever since Adam’s Fall,

But in You there is Light

And no darkness at all.

The depths of Your wisdom no one can mine

Far beyond me are the ways of the Divine

Lord, when I ask my questions                         May my chief desire be

Not to know every answer

But to know more of Thee
