Hey everyone, you might have noticed that I’ve written several poems based on Psalms, like today’s poem below. This brings me to a big announcement. I’m going to try to write a poem for every psalm. Since some of my psalm poems have already published, they won’t be released in order, but I’ll be sure to announce when and if the project is finished and include links to every psalm when I’m done. I’ll be collaborating with other Substackers and I’m excited to announce that my first collaborated psalm poem will release tomorrow!
Now on to today’s post!
Psalm Twenty-Nine (II) : The Voice of God
Hear the God of glory thunder!
Worship His holiness in wonder.
The cedars of Lebanon break
And the wilderness of Kadesh shakes
At Your voice of power and majesty
So O my God, how can it be?
The voice that divides the fiery flame,
Cried, as a baby,His mother’s name
The voice that strips the forests bare
Cried, “My God My God, why aren’t You there?!”
Christ was born to give His people peace
That man’s war with God would finally cease
The voice that makes the deer give birth
Would once again shake the whole earth
“It is finished! It is done!”
Death has lost to the risen Son
Forevermore the Lord is King
With my voice I will praise Him and sing.
Encouraged by your love of Scripture! Happy to be here reading your poems.
Ohh very beautiful! And so excited to read the collabs 👏
