Tremble before Yahweh the King
In awe, join the Earth in her quaking
Christ exalted over everyone
How awesome is the name of God’s Son
Holy, Holy holy is He!
He rules in justice and purity
What priest can intercede for sinful Israel?
Moses, Aaron and Samuel
Faithful, they were like rays of dawn
But through sin and death, they’ve come and gone.
Through them, on Israel forgiveness was laid
But misdeeds must be repaid
Lest justice remain unserved and God be found untrue
What shall a forgiving God do?
Under the rug, sin can’t simply be swept.
God’s integrity must be kept.
The answer: the cross of Calvary
At its centre, justice meets mercy
On Christ, the punishment was executed fully
But He poured out His grace to make us holy
At the cost of Another, He made us His own
Now and forever we’ll worship at His throne
