!Psalm 64
Lord hide me from the bows of wicked tongues. Shooting sharp word-arrows at blameless ones Once enthroned in Heaven, now I’ve become a Man Exposed to My attackers’ swords—who can withstand?
With sharp innuendo, they question who I am Trying to draw blood from this spotless Lamb. They are the foremost experts of Your law, But when Your finger wrote the letters, My eyes saw.
Since they cannot trap me with questions of bait. They set their secret spring trap with hate. These sons of the devil speak only lies And plot a nighttime trial to ensure My demise.
But Father I find My sole refuge in You Father forgive them, they know not what they do Their scoffing hearts are darker than the hidden sun, But the thief and centurion ponder what You’ve done.
For their crimes, eternal death they deserved. But it was to You their portion of justice was served. The centurion looks on You whose side He pierced and cried, “Truly, this was God’s righteous Son who died!”
“Remember me O King!” is the thief’s repentant cry You assure him of paradise in Your reply But the thief on the left and all who won’t repent, Will receive Hell’s arrows of wrath and You will not relent.
But the righteous take refuge in You! By Your blood at the cross, they are made new. They will ponder the perfect justice You’ve shown And rejoice—the nail-pierced Lamb reigns on the throne!
Very unusual format, great work!
