Psalm 114
O sea of Jordan why do you flee?
Trembling mountain what do you see?
That you skip like terrified rams
That has turned hills into skittish lambs
“We’ve seen the Lord,” they tremble in reply.
“He’s saved His people from Egypt and answered all their cries.
He has made Israel and Judah His own
And made freshwater springs from stone
To quench His thirsty sons and daughters
So is the tenderness of the Father.”
O noonday Sun, why have you veiled your face?
What ails you, Golgatha that you so violently quake?
Earth’s stones why have you split in two?
What horrible sight have you viewed?
“Our Creator has breathed His last and died
See Living Water flow from His side
With His precious blood, He has borne your curse
The Rock of Ages struck to death
That you might never thirst.”
O Earth, tremble at the presence of the Lord.
Bow before Him in one accord.
From the Rock of Ages He gave river springs
So our hearts may overflow with love for our King!
