Kiss the Son: Psalm 2 Paraphrase
Note: Kiss does not mean in a romantic way but to pay homage. The second line in the second stanza is my own analogy. Finished July 22,2019.
This is an Ushnik, a poetry form from India. It has 4-line stanzas and 7 syllables per line.
Why do nations waste their time,
Raging, plotting against Christ?
They want no king but themselves
And cast off His loving rules.
God will laugh at their folly:
They’re toddlers going to war.
He will distress them in wrath:
“My King is on Zion’s hill.”
God has declared Christ His Son
And given Him the nations.
He will dash them like pottery—
Break them with an iron rod.
Kiss the Son, lest He be mad,
Not betraying like Judas.
Take refuge in the Son’s cross.
Trust in Him and be blessed.
Come and kiss the risen Son,
Who bled for You to know Him.
Kiss His nail-pierced hands and feet.
Adore Christ the KING of kings.
