In holiness and strength God reigns.
Now in Mary’s womb, He is contained.
Once robed in majesty on high,
Now, robed in flesh, hear Jesus cry.
The eternally infinite Creator of space
Has bound Himself to time and place.
Omniscient Wisdom who knows all that’s best
Now only knows Mary’s warm breast
The Word spoke and created night and day
Now, a word He can’t yet say.
Always present in every place
God now with us, full of truth and grace
The all-powerful Lion, the Great I Am
Lays weak and helpless like a Lamb.
But to the Infant in the manger-bed,
God gives strength to crush the serpent’s head.
Too holy to look at sin on earth,
Christ entered this sin-drenched world at birth.
He knew no sin but my sin He became,
So I’d wear His righteousness without blame.
This is the King sent from above
To conquer our hearts with a cross of love.
Come behold King Jesus, newborn
And with glory and honor, Him ever adorn.
I read this to my (extended) family this morning. Thank you!
Beautifully composed, Sakari!
